The Deep Green Bush-School Story
the Deep Green Bush-School story:
information, documents and history

The Deep Green Bush-School was open from January 2017 to August 2020, on the edge of Auckland, in Clevedon.  We were a school based on promoting ecological intelligence, critical thinking, and social and emotional intelligence.

The school is no longer running.  I (Joe Moncarz) started this site to help remind people how humans evolved to live and learn, and that given the state of the world, we urgently need to think differently about how we're living.
(For WHY the school closed, see the FAQ page.
)
Here are some of the documents (for your inspiration) which I wrote:
"A Culture of Sustainability"  The DGBS school curriculum
DGBS Core Principles
The DGBS Learning Process chart
Statement on Modern Technology
Approach to Literacy
No More Cages:  Statement on Zoos
Parents are still the biggest influence on children's lives.  While the DGBS is now closed, YOU can still promote a close connection with nature!  For guidance for adults, from the same heart and mind behind the Deep Green Bush-School, see Rewild to Survive: School of Survival Intelligence www.rewildtosurvive.nz
The 2018 ERO report can be viewed HERE.  (But if you're looking for a school alternative, do you really care what a bunch of suits have to say?)
