the Deep Green Bush-School

The Deep Green Bush-School was open from January 2017 to August 2020.  We were a school based on promoting ecological intelligence, critical thinking, and social and emotional intelligence.

The Deep Green Bush-School model was based on:

• free play in nature
• tech-free (no phones, no screens, etc.)
• no set classes
  
• no coercion
  
• listening to, and responding to student requests
• mixed ages
• respect for indigenous wisdom and knowledge
• restorative justice

It aimed to nurture ecological intelligence, wilderness and survival skills, resilience, critical thinking, compassion for others, and responsibility.
